Signs your metabolism may be slowing down
You no doubt have heard the word metabolism and may even have a vague idea of how it impacts your health as well as your weight.
The biggest sign of a slow metabolism is unexplained weight gain even though you may be eating well and exercising regularly. But it’s not the only sign that your metabolic rate may be slowing down and need a jumpstart.

What is Metabolism, anyway?
Metabolism is the word used to describe all of the biochemical reactions in your body.
Your metabolic rate is how fast your metabolism works and it’s measured in calories.
Having a healthy metabolism is critical for long term health as it can help improve circulation, moderate your blood sugar levels, boost your mood, increase your energy, and strengthen your immune system.
As far as your weight goes, your metabolism either raises or lowers your appetite in response to the number of calories your body needs on a given day. If your metabolism is working as it should, your weight remains steady. If not, that equation gets thrown off, and your calorie burn will be either very sluggish or you can find yourself with an insatiable appetite.
The take away: You will find yourself with excess flab, particularly belly fat, which affects your organs and will ultimately result in weight gain, further affecting your health as well as how you feel and fit in the clothes you love.
